Building Neighborhoods

In 2005, Woods of Maine Inc. completed Phase I of the Woodridge Subdivision off the Bomarc Road in Bangor.  In 2006, Mike and Rebecca Wood turned the construction company over to their children.  The first project for the new business, now Wood Homes, LLC, was Phase II of Woodridge Subdivision on Benjamin’s Way in Bangor.  The area was undeveloped in the spring of the 2006 but by the winter, 20 homes were up and sold.

In the spring of 2007 they constructed Riverwalk Village Condominums and all 8 were sold and moved into by the end of June.  Currently they are starting a new subdivision in Levant called Thibodeau Acres with 10 new homes that will be completed by September.

The focus of Woods of Maine, Inc has always been affordable new construction.  This legacy continues with the second generation.  Mr. Wood continues to be involved, but in the land development end of the business.  The five children all have a part in the construction of the homes which allows for unprecedented results. On any given day, the siblings can be found pounding nails at the construction site.   Every member of the family has a vested interest in the success of the business.

Jessica Spencer is the office manager and liaison with the real estate office.  Jeremiah Wood handles the heating and plumbing.  Chris Wood manages the worksite and the finish work.  Tom Wood does the bulk of the framing and Andrew has a hand in all aspects of the building process.

Though the real estate market ebbs and flows, Wood Home, LLC has found that there is always a need for affordable new construction.  The option of affordable new construction offers home buyers the opportunity to purchase a brand new house as opposed to an older one which may come with issues related to age.

Wood Homes, LLC offers a variety of home styles and options.  If a buyer signs on early enough in the build process, customization is available for floor plan, counter tops, cupboards, lighting, siding, etc.  The focus is to keep it basic, simple, and affordable.  All building materials and methods meet or exceed code requirements.  Extra care is taken to be sure the homes are as efficient as possible.

There are a couple of projects on the horizon for Wood Homes, LLC.  A new condo project will commence in the late summer.  They will offer hardwood and tile floors, a gas fireplace, and granite countertops.  Another subdivision will be started in the spring of 2008 on outer Essex Street.  This subdivision will be unique in that the lots will be nearly one acre each.

Wood Homes, LLC takes pride in their workmanship and in the relationships they have forged.  They not only built the neighborhoods, but they also live and raise their families there.  Even in the slower market, Wood Homes, LLC helps hard working families realize the America dream of home ownership.

Testimonials

We are so pleased with the Emily Ellis Team's handling of, not only selling our old colonial home, but also helping us with our new Wood Homes house (the loan, etc.).

The interest in our situation that Emily herself showed was heartwarming to us. She exhibited a tenacity for the job of helping us sell the colonial on Court St. at a time that it was not easy to do so - that was noteworthy.  She is very professional, but also kind and loving.

The outstanding construction of Wood Homes, LLC is apparent in comments from buyers around town.  Homes on our street don't all look the same.  Emily and her team found the right homes for the right people.

Our home on the cul-de-sac on Benjamin's Way in Bangor is beautiful and a perfect size.  The workmanship and cabinetry are outstanding.

Kim and I would like to present this letter to you and to everyone at Wood Homes in order to

personally thank you for building us a wonderful home on Molly Lane. We are both extremely

happy with the finished product and we are even more pleased with how great it was to work

with you and your company during the entire construction process. It is rare in today’s world to

find a contractor that holds such a high expectation of quality and commitment to his work. Kim

and I are extremely grateful that you were willing to work with us during the design process to

help develop our dream of a home into a reality. We also enjoyed being involved during the

entire construction process and it was a pleasure to visit our home during this process. Each time

Kim or I would visit the construction site, we were always met with kind and helpful workers

that were more than willing to answer any questions we had and very accommodating of us

being onsite. I personally want to thank you for accommodating me when I decided to wire the

house myself for data, telephone and cable television. I am extremely happy with the result and I

know it will pay off greatly in the future. It was by all means a great experience to do business

with you and with everyone associated with the building of our new home.

In closing, we want to again pass on our deepest appreciation to you and to everyone at Wood

Homes for making our dream of home ownership come true. We are eternally grateful for

everything you have done and if there is every anything we can do for you in the future, then

please feel free to ask.

Sincerely,

Kimberly and Ryan Deppe
